Mealworms and suet crumbs fall straight through a feeder built for fat balls, which is the reason a mesh or cage suited to loose food exists as its own product rather than one feeder doing every job.

This is the mealworm and suet version of Henry Bell's compact Heavy Duty Everyday range, made of aluminium and finished in black, with an all-in-one base built for greater perch space and to help collect food debris. Henry Bell say it is easy to clean and refill.

• Built for mealworms and suet, not fat balls
• Aluminium construction, black finish
• All-in-one base with wider perch space
• Helps collect food debris rather than dropping it
• Compact version of the Heavy Duty range

A gap worth flagging. No mesh size, capacity or dimensions are given, so we can't say exactly how fine the mealworms need to be to stay in rather than fall through, or how much it holds per fill.

Who it's for: garden bird feeders wanting a dedicated mealworm and suet feeder rather than a fat-ball feeder pressed into a job it was not built for.
