Specifications

Brand: Hatchwell

Full description

Getting a dog or cat used to something in their mouth is easier with a fingertip than a full-sized brush, which is exactly the gap a finger toothbrush is built to fill.

Hatchwells' Finger Toothbrush is a soft rubber brush that fits over a finger, intended as a way to introduce toothpaste and the sensation of brushing before moving on to a standard handled brush. It's made in Great Britain.

Soft rubber, worn over a finger
Intended as an introduction to brushing and toothpaste
A step before Hatchwells' Veterinary Toothbrush
Made in GB

On the specifics. Hatchwells haven't given us a size guide for different mouth sizes, so if you're choosing between this and a different toothbrush for a very small breed or a large dog, there's nothing on our source to compare against.

Who it's for: owners starting a dental routine with a puppy, kitten, or any dog or cat not used to a full-sized brush yet.

Why we chose it

Starting with a finger brush rather than a full-sized one is the easier way to get an animal used to brushing at all, which matters more than the brush design itself at this stage. Being made in GB is also a straightforward point worth mentioning on a small, simple product like this.
