Full description

A bird left with nothing to chew on will usually find something anyway - a windowsill, a favourite perch, its own feathers - which is why a cage without a toy in it rarely stays quiet for long.

The Tansy Trio is built from natural coloured rope with plastic and string inserts woven through it, so a bird gets three different textures to work through rather than one repetitive strand. Happy Pet size it at 30cm, long enough to hang across a decent-sized cage without disappearing into a corner.

30cm long
Natural coloured rope with plastic and string inserts
Encourages natural chewing, shredding and play
Aimed at helping prevent unwanted feather picking
Supports beak maintenance through varied textures
Suitable for parrots and larger birds

One thing worth knowing. Happy Pet don't publish a weight or a list of the plastic components used, so if your bird has a known sensitivity to a particular material we can't confirm what's in the inserts beyond "plastic and string". Supervision is recommended, and the toy should come out the moment any part looks damaged or comes loose.

Who it's for: owners of parrots or other larger cage birds who want a toy that gives their bird something proper to chew and shred, rather than the bars of the cage.

Happy Pet Tansy Trio Bird Toy

Why we chose it

Feather picking is one of those problems owners only notice once it's already started, and a toy that gives a bird several textures to work through is a cheap way to head it off. At under a fiver in cost it's an easy thing to keep a spare of, so a damaged one doesn't leave the cage empty.
