Birds don't have teeth, so grinding their food down happens in the gizzard instead - and that grinding needs something gritty to work with.

This is a bird grit built around crushed oyster shell, which is also a source of calcium as it's broken down and absorbed.

• Crushed oyster shell as the base ingredient
• Calcium-enriched
• 2KG pack

On what we don't know: the listing doesn't tell us which birds it's intended for, how often or how much to offer, or whether it's soluble or insoluble grit - which matters, because the two do different jobs in a bird's gut. The makers have given us the ingredient and the pack size and nothing beyond that.

Who it's for: keepers who already know their birds need a calcium-enriched grit and want a straightforward oyster-shell based one, rather than a specific feeding plan spelled out for them.
