A bath with a dog that does not want one is a race, and the thing that decides it is not lather — it is how quickly the bottle lets you get to the rinse. Anything that needs a second product afterwards has doubled the length of the argument.

This is built as a one-step: cleanse and condition together, no separate conditioner, for the dogs For All Dog Kind politely describe as tricky to bath. The base is water and aloe barbadensis leaf juice with mild surfactants, and the scent and the cleaning come from organic grapefruit peel oil and mandarin orange oil, with bitter orange, ylang ylang and geranium behind them. There is neem leaf extract and quassia wood extract in the list too. It is 97% natural, pH balanced, made with 100% pure essential oils and free from sulphates, parabens and petrochemicals. Every 250ml bottle sold sends £1 to Battersea.

Neem is on the ingredient list, not a flea treatment. For All Dog Kind describe neem as a natural flea, tick and insect deterrent, and that is a very long way from a licensed spot-on — a dog that already has fleas needs the licensed product, and a shampoo is not it. Their "free from any chemicals" line is marketing rather than chemistry, and their own label is more honest than their headline: it flags limonene and linalool as potential allergens occurring naturally in the essential oils, which is worth reading if your dog has reactive skin. Nothing published here says it is safe for cats, and essential oils are a specific concern for them.

Who it's for: owners of a dog that hates being washed and needs the whole job done in one go, and anyone who would rather their shampoo money went somewhere.
