This is the Battersea edition of For All DogKind's everyday shampoo, and the practical difference from the standard bottle is a donation: £2 goes to Battersea from every 5 litres sold. The formulation itself is aimed at the dogs the title politely calls tricky to bath — a one-step wash rather than a shampoo-then-conditioner routine, on the reasonable assumption that you get one go at it.

The blend is water and aloe barbadensis leaf juice with mild cleansers, enriched with organic grapefruit and mandarin oil, and a hydrolysed wheat protein doing the conditioning. It contains neem, which For All DogKind describe as a natural flea, tick and insect deterrent. They state it is 97% natural, pH balanced, made with 100% pure essential oils and free from sulphates, parabens and petrochemicals, and it suits all breeds and skin types and can be used as often as needed.

Neem is a deterrent, not a treatment. For All DogKind's own word is deterrent, and that is the right one — a dog with fleas needs a licensed veterinary product, and no shampoo of any kind will clear an infestation in a house. It also contains a hydrolysed wheat protein, so it is not the bottle if you are avoiding wheat, and it is a dog shampoo: the essential oils in it make it unsuitable for cats.

Who it's for: owners of a dog who tolerates exactly one wash and no more, and anyone who would rather their shampoo money did something on the way past.
