Duramitex Plus Spray

Red mite hide in the cracks of a coop by day and only come out to feed at night, which is why a spray that just kills on contact rarely keeps up. Harkers built Duramitex Plus around trapping the mite instead of poisoning it.

It uses a blend of silicones rather than a pesticide, forming what Harkers call a "sticky trap" that renders adult mites permanently immobile on contact and stops earlier life stages developing further. Because the mechanism is physical rather than chemical, it can be used with birds still in the coop, aviary or loft, rather than needing the space cleared first.

What the label does not say. Harkers do not publish how often to reapply it or how long one 500ML bottle covers, so treat this as a spray to use as part of a regular cleaning routine rather than a one-off fix - red mite infestations are usually ongoing management, not a single spray away.
