Specifications

Brand: Classic

Full description

A hamster or gerbil that spends its day in a single box with a wheel is getting exercise but not much else, which is the gap a modular, tunnel-connected cage is built to fill.

Classic's Landmark cage measures 58 x 38 x 29cm, with bar spacing of 1cm, and is designed to connect via tubing to other Landmark cages to expand the space over time. It comes complete with a shelf, ladder, house, wheel, bowl, play-pod and tubing, and is manufactured in Europe.

On expanding it. Classic describe the range as modular so cages 'can be combined to create a huge network' — but the facts we hold don't say which other Landmark cages or tubing packs are compatible, so check compatibility before assuming any Landmark accessory will connect.

Who it's for: owners of hamsters or similar small animals who want to start with one cage and have the option to expand it later, rather than buying the biggest single cage available up front.

Why we chose it

The narrow 1cm bar spacing is worth checking against your own animal — it's tighter than a lot of cages at this size, which matters for a small or young hamster. Coming complete with a wheel, house and tubing means there's nothing extra to buy just to get started.
