A rabbit given a bowl of mixed shapes and colours will often go for the tastiest pieces first and leave the rest, which is the standing criticism of a muesli-style mix against a uniform pellet - it doesn't stop a rabbit from picking, it just gives them more to pick between.

This is a muesli rather than a pellet, built mostly from grass, oat feed, wheat, barley and oats, with alfalfa and wheatfeed adding further bulk. Herbs make up 2% of the mix, including nettle, and vegetables 6%, including unmolassed beet pulp and carrot, with smaller additions like marigold, blackcurrant and rosehips through the rest of it.

How much should I feed?

Chudleys give three rates: free choice, typically 100-120g daily, for growing rabbits up to a year old; 25g for every kilogram an adult weighs; and 75g for every kilogram a lactating doe weighs.

Does it need feeding alongside hay?

Yes - Chudleys' guidance is to feed it alongside clean, dust-free long fibre such as hay.
