Product description
Feeding a small dog or a cat on a hard kitchen floor usually ends with the bowl somewhere it did not start, nudged under a cupboard or chased across the tiles until the food is out and the water has gone with it. A wooden cradle solves that quietly. The dish sits down inside the frame rather than on top of it, so there is nothing for a determined nose to get underneath.
The bowl itself is ceramic, which is the material most worth having at a feeding station: heavy enough to resist a shove, wipes clean instead of scratching and holding grease the way plastic does, and it carries no taint of flavour into the next meal. The dish is shaped with a low front lip at 3cm rising to 5cm at the back, so a short-muzzled pet can reach the food without pressing their face into the sides.
- Ceramic dish held in a solid wooden frame
- 16cm across the top
- 3cm high at the low front lip, rising to 5cm at the raised back
- Frame lifts the dish clear of the floor and stops it sliding
- Ceramic wipes clean and does not hold odours
- Choice of blue or pink
- Printed check pattern with a playful motif
Two things worth knowing. At 16cm across this is a small-pet bowl, right for cats, kittens and toy or small dog breeds, and too shallow to be a sensible dinner service for anything larger. And tip-proof describes the stand rather than physics: a cat determined to lift the dish out of the frame can still manage it, though most give up once the bowl stops skating away from them.
Who it's for: Cat and small-dog owners tired of chasing a bowl round the kitchen who want a feeding spot that looks like part of the room.
Why we chose it
The dish sits down inside the frame rather than on top, so there is nothing for a nose to get underneath. That is the fix for a bowl that ends up under the cupboard with the water gone. Ceramic, and it looks like furniture.
