9.5 litres is a serious bowl. At 360mm across it is more than most dogs need for food and about right as a water bowl for a household of large dogs, a kennel, or anywhere a bowl gets filled once and left rather than topped up hourly.

It is stainless steel, which is the material worth insisting on for a dull but decisive reason: it does not absorb food odours, it does not scratch the way plastic does — and scratches are where bacteria live — and it goes in the dishwasher. Classic build these to stack inside one another, so a stack of them takes up very little cupboard or shelf space. They are described as strong and sturdy for years of daily use.
