Full description

Small animals in captivity spend far less time foraging than they would in the wild, and a compressed hay bale with something added on top exists mostly to get that behaviour going again rather than to add much nutritionally.

This mini bale is 92% timothy hay, topped with 6% cornflower, with raffia and starch making up the rest to hold its shape. Burgess describe it as encouraging natural foraging behaviour, and its high fibre content supports the same dental wear that loose hay does.
