Fleas spend most of their life cycle off the animal entirely, living in carpets, bedding and skirting-board cracks, which is why treating the home matters as much as treating the pet itself.

This aerosol spray uses Permethrin and Tetramethrin, two fast-acting insecticides that kill fleas, ticks and dust mites on contact. It's for home use only — not for direct application to pets — and is sprayed from around 20cm onto carpets, rugs and pet bedding, particularly into cracks and crevices where insects hide. Bob Martin say one application protects for up to 3 months, with weekly reapplication recommended during summer.
