A shampoo that repels fleas is doing a different job to one that kills them, and knowing which one is in the bottle matters more than the scent on the label.

This is a pesticide-free repellent shampoo, built around Margosa extract (0.50% w/w) and Lavandin oil (0.10% w/w) — both natural insect-repellents with a soothing, pleasant scent. Bob Martin are explicit that it repels fleas and ticks and helps reduce related irritation, but it is not a treatment that kills flea eggs or larvae, so it works alongside rather than instead of a proper flea treatment. It's suitable for dogs over 12 weeks old.

What the label does not say. This is a repellent, not a treatment — it will not kill an existing flea infestation or stop eggs and larvae developing, which a proper spot-on or tablet treatment does. Follow the directions on the bottle for how much to use for your dog's size, and see a vet if your dog already has a flea problem rather than relying on this alone.

Who it's for: owners wanting a gentler, pesticide-free option to discourage fleas and ticks day to day, alongside — not instead of — a proper flea treatment for an existing infestation.
