On the "rabbit" tag on this card
Our own data briefly listed rabbit as a protein source for this feed, which is a mistake — there's no rabbit meat in it, this is a plant-based mix for rabbits to eat, not made from them. The actual composition is the grain, pellet and vegetable-based list above.
Why we chose it
A 15kg sack of a genuinely complementary mix, rather than one dressed up as complete, is honest about what it's for — a supplement to hay, not instead of it. Bestpets' own vitamin fortification figures are specific enough that you're not just buying a bag of grain with a label on it.

Full description
Rabbits are built to graze almost constantly, which is the reason vets push hay so hard as the bulk of the diet — a bagged mix like this one is designed to sit alongside that constant hay supply, contributing vitamins and minerals rather than standing in for it.
Bestpets build this from a pelleted base — wheat/wheatfeed, grass meal, oatfeed, nutritionally improved straw, distillers grain, rapeseed meal, palm kernel, molasses, calcium carbonate, di-calcium phosphate, salt and a vitamin premix — plus wheat flaked peas, an extruded biscuit coloured with the EC additives E102, E110 and E131, oats, flaked maize, locust beans and grass pellets. Bestpets describe it as a complementary diet contributing protein, fibre and other nutrients rather than a complete replacement for hay.
- Crude protein 14.3%, fat 5.3%, fibre 7.6%, ash 5.0%
- Vitamin A 10,000 i.u./kg, Vitamin D 2,000 i.u./kg, Vitamin E 40 i.u./kg, copper 7.7mg/kg
- Complementary feed, meant to sit alongside hay
- Bestpets say never to offer it direct from the fridge
- 15KG sack

Who it's for: rabbit owners who already keep hay as the main part of the diet and want a fortified bagged mix to sit alongside it, rather than a hay replacement.
