One thing worth knowing
Argo don't give a precise cut-off for when to move a bird off this feed onto a layer ration — "up to point of lay" is the guidance, and point of lay itself varies by breed. Watch your own birds rather than a fixed calendar date.
Why we chose it
A dedicated grower pellet, rather than stretching a starter crumb too long or jumping straight to layer feed, is the right nutrition for the actual stage a bird is at. Argo's non-medicated formulation means it fits alongside whatever health regime you're already running.

Full description
Chicks don't stay on a starter crumb forever — as their beaks and gut develop, a small pellet becomes easier for them to manage than the fine crumb they needed as day-olds, which is the point at which a grower feed takes over.
Argo build this from wheat, wheatfeed, soya (produced from genetically modified soya beans), maize bran, molasses, dried grass, calcium carbonate, vitamins and minerals, a binder (E565) and sodium bicarbonate. It's a premium grade small pellet rather than a crumb, and Argo describe it as aimed at encouraging strong, healthy development and plumage in young growing birds, fed ad-lib from around six to eight weeks of age through to point of lay.
- Crude oil 3%, crude protein 17%, crude fibre 6%, crude ash 10%
- Small pellet, not a crumb
- Fed ad-lib from around 6 to 8 weeks of age up to point of lay
- Suitable for all poultry
- Non-medicated
- 20KG sack
