Specifications

Brand: Aquarian

Full description

Tap water is safe for people to drink and still dangerous for fish, because the chlorine that's fine for us damages their gills directly.

Aquarian Tap Water Safe is a conditioner that instantly makes tap water safe for fish by neutralising that chlorine. It's suitable for both tropical and goldfish setups, and Aquarian's own instruction is to add 2 full caps per 20 litres of aquarium water.

Instantly makes tap water safe for fish
Suitable for tropical and goldfish aquariums
Dose: 2 full caps per 20 litres
Intended for use at tank set-up and at every water change
118ML bottle

On when to use it. Aquarian's guidance is to use it both when setting up a new tank and with every single water change afterwards, not just the first time — skipping it on a routine change still exposes fish to the same chlorine as a brand new tank would.

Who it's for: tropical and goldfish keepers doing regular partial water changes who want a straightforward dechlorinator dosed by the litre.

Why we chose it

A clear dose, 2 caps per 20 litres, is easier to get right consistently than a vague splash-and-hope instruction, and consistency is what actually protects fish over repeated water changes. Working across both tropical and goldfish tanks also means one bottle covers most home setups.
