A dog that hates the bath will still tolerate being sprayed and towelled off, which is most of the appeal of a no-rinse shampoo - it removes the one part of grooming most dogs actually object to.

This is a spray-on formula from Animology's budget Essentials range: spritz it onto the coat, work it through with a groom, and leave it - there's no water, no bath and no rinsing stage. It's finished in a peach scent and comes in a 250ML bottle.

What the label does not say. Animology don't publish an ingredient list or a frequency guide for this one, so we can't tell you what's actually doing the cleaning or how often it's safe to use. Treat it as a between-washes freshen-up rather than a replacement for an actual bath if your dog has properly muddy or greasy fur.

Who it's for: owners who want a quick coat freshen-up between full baths, or a dog that makes bath time difficult enough that avoiding it altogether is worth something.
