Dog prosecco and pawsecco
A bottled "dog prosecco" specifically labelled as such is not a product we currently carry, but we do stock Ancol Pawty Time Champagne — a non-alcoholic, dog-safe sparkling drink made for exactly the same purpose: giving a dog something to "toast" a birthday, adoption day or other celebration alongside their owner. It is genuinely alcohol-free and formulated to be safe for dogs to drink, not a novelty item that happens to look the part.
What a dog-safe celebration drink actually is
These products are built to look and feel like a celebration drink without containing anything that would harm a dog — no alcohol, and nothing else that would upset a dog's stomach in a normal serving. They are a novelty and a photo opportunity more than a nutritional product, and that is exactly what they are marketed as.
Real alcohol of any kind, prosecco included, is genuinely dangerous for dogs even in small amounts, affecting coordination, breathing and organ function well before it would affect a person the same size. A dog-safe alternative exists precisely so owners have a way to include their dog in a toast without any of that risk.
How to use it, and what to pair it with
Serve it the way you would any treat drink — a small amount in a bowl or dog-friendly glass for the occasion, not as a regular addition to your dog's diet. It works well alongside a treat or a small piece of dog-safe cake for a birthday or milestone rather than being the main event on its own.
As with any new treat item, introduce it in a modest amount the first time and watch how your dog gets on, particularly for a dog with a known sensitive stomach.
Making the most of the occasion safely
A dog-safe celebration drink works best as part of a wider low-key marking of the day — a favourite walk, a new toy, or some extra attention — rather than the main event itself. Most dogs are far more interested in the novelty of the moment and the attention they are getting than the drink itself.
Always supervise while your dog has any new food or drink item, and stop offering it if your dog seems uninterested or shows any sign of an upset stomach, the same sensible approach you would take with any treat.

Common questions
- Do you sell an actual dog prosecco?
- No, a product specifically bottled and labelled as dog prosecco is not something we carry. What we stock instead is Ancol Pawty Time Champagne, a non-alcoholic dog-safe sparkling drink designed for the same celebratory purpose.
- Is dog prosecco actually alcoholic?
- Genuine dog-safe celebration drinks, including the one we stock, are non-alcoholic. Real alcohol is dangerous for dogs even in tiny amounts, so any product genuinely intended to be given to a dog to drink should be alcohol-free by design.
- Can my dog get drunk from real prosecco or champagne?
- Dogs should never be given real alcohol at all. Even a small amount can cause serious problems including vomiting, disorientation, breathing difficulty and, in larger amounts relative to their size, more severe effects — it is not a harmless bit of fun and needs a vet's attention if it happens.
- What occasions are dog-safe celebration drinks usually used for?
- Birthdays, adoption anniversaries, a new puppy joining the family, or simply marking a special day are the most common reasons owners buy one. It is entirely a novelty item rather than something with any nutritional purpose, and that is exactly the appeal for most owners.
