Natures Menu

Natures Menu is a well-known raw and frozen dog food brand, best known for mince, nuggets and complete raw meals in flavours like turkey, chicken and tripe. We carry a selection from the range, including their 80/20 nugget line and freeze-dried treat bars, alongside frozen raw mince and puppy-specific options.

What's in the range

Our Natures Menu selection includes frozen mince such as Just Turkey Mince and Chicken & Rabbit Mince, the 80/20 nugget range in turkey, pork and puppy-specific turkey & fish, and Natural Raw Beef Chunks and Poultry Heart Chunks for owners feeding a more varied raw diet. Superfood Bars, made with freeze-dried ingredients, are also part of the range as a treat rather than a meal.

Raw feeding is a specific way of feeding a dog that differs from cooked wet or dry food in how it's stored, thawed and handled, so it suits owners who are already comfortable with that approach or are actively looking to switch to it, rather than being a straightforward swap for a dry kibble.

Handling raw food safely

Frozen raw food needs to be stored in a freezer and thawed in a fridge before feeding, following the guidance on the specific pack, and any raw meat should be handled with the same hygiene you'd use for raw meat in your own kitchen — separate surfaces and utensils, and thorough handwashing afterwards. This matters for your own household as much as for your dog.

If you're new to raw feeding, introduce it gradually alongside your dog's current food rather than switching overnight, and speak to your vet if your dog has any existing health condition, since raw diets aren't automatically suitable for every dog.

Storage and freezer space

Raw and frozen dog food takes up genuine freezer space, and that is worth planning for before ordering in bulk, particularly the larger mince packs. Most owners keep a rolling stock of a few days to a week's worth thawed or thawing in the fridge, with the rest kept frozen until needed.

If freezer space is limited, ordering smaller, more frequent amounts works just as well as buying in a large batch, and it means less food sitting frozen for a long stretch before it's used.

Common questions

Is raw food safe for puppies?
Natures Menu makes puppy-specific raw options, such as their 80/20 Puppy Turkey & Fish Nuggets, formulated for growth rather than adult maintenance. As with any new diet for a puppy, introduce it gradually and check with your vet if you're unsure.
How do I thaw frozen raw dog food safely?
Thaw it in the fridge rather than at room temperature, following the timing guidance on the specific product's packaging, and feed it within the timeframe stated once thawed. This reduces the risk of bacterial growth the same way it would with raw meat for human consumption.
Can I mix raw food with my dog's usual dry kibble?
Many owners do feed a mixed diet, but introduce any new food type gradually rather than combining large amounts suddenly, since a dog's digestion needs time to adjust. If your dog has a sensitive stomach, ask your vet for guidance on transitioning.
