Adventuros dog treats
Adventuros, made by Purina, is a range of jerky-style dog treats built around wild game flavours — venison, wild boar and buffalo — sold as strips, sticks and nuggets. We stock several lines from the range, and it suits dogs who do well on a firmer, chewier treat rather than a soft or biscuit-style one.
You might also want to browse long-lasting natural chews, treat puzzles for dogs and bowls that slow fast eaters down.
What's in the range
The Adventuros range we carry includes wild chew venison strips, wild boar flavour nuggets, and buffalo flavour sticks, alongside a training-treat line made with salmon or lamb aimed at smaller, more frequent rewards. The strips and sticks are firmer and chewier, closer to a jerky texture, while the training treats are smaller and softer for quick repeat use.
Because the texture is firmer than a soft training treat, they suit an adult dog with a healthy set of teeth better than a very young puppy or an older dog with dental issues, who may find a softer treat easier to manage.
Who the range suits
Adventuros treats work well as an occasional higher-value treat, a chew to keep a dog occupied for a while, or a reward for a dog that needs something a bit more substantial than a small biscuit. As with any treat, they should stay a minor part of a dog's daily food intake rather than a meal replacement.
If your dog has a known sensitivity to a particular meat, check the ingredients on the specific pack, since the range covers several different game flavours rather than one single recipe.
Store any opened pack somewhere cool and dry and reseal it between uses, since a jerky-style treat left open to the air can dry out or lose its texture faster than a sealed bag.
Checking the ingredients
Because the range covers several distinct wild-game flavours, the protein source and any additional ingredients differ from one product to the next, so check the specific pack rather than assuming every Adventuros treat is built the same way. This matters most if your dog has a known sensitivity to a particular protein.
As with any treat, keep the total amount given in a day proportionate to your dog's size and regular meals, and introduce a new flavour in a small amount first to see how your dog's stomach takes to it before making it a regular reward.

Common questions
- Are Adventuros treats suitable for puppies?
- The firmer jerky-style strips and sticks are better suited to adult dogs with a full set of teeth. Check the pack for any age guidance, and offer a softer treat instead if your puppy is still teething or you are unsure.
- How many Adventuros treats can I give my dog a day?
- Treats of any kind, including Adventuros, should make up only a small part of a dog's daily food intake — as a rough guide, no more than around ten per cent of total calories. Follow the feeding guidance on the pack for your dog's size.
- What flavours does Adventuros come in?
- The range we stock includes venison, wild boar and buffalo flavour treats in strip, stick and nugget forms, plus a training-treat line in salmon and lamb, so there is some choice if your dog prefers one flavour over another.
