Our livestock feed aisle is really our poultry and smallholder range — layers feed, scratch corn, grit and the equipment to feed it with — rather than feed for larger livestock like cattle or sheep, which sits outside what a shop our size stocks. If you keep hens, ducks or other backyard poultry, this is where that feed lives.
What's actually stocked here
The core of this aisle is our poultry feed range: Mr Johnson's Layer Pellets and Argo Poultry Mix Complete as complete feeds, Mr Johnson's Mixed Corn as a scattered scratch feed, and Mr Johnson's Poultry Grit and Jondo Mixed Poultry Grit for digestion. These are formulated for laying hens and general backyard poultry rather than for cattle, sheep, pigs or other larger livestock.
A Galvanised Metal Poultry Feeder Trough covers the equipment side, giving birds a proper feeding point rather than scattering everything on the ground, which also cuts down on waste and keeps feed cleaner for longer.

If you came here looking for feed for larger farm animals, we do not carry that — our range is built around companion pets, poultry and small animals rather than commercial livestock. Our dedicated poultry-and-pigeon range covers hens, ducks and pigeons in more depth if backyard birds are what you actually keep.
For rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets, hay and forage sit in a separate part of the shop rather than under livestock feed, so it is worth checking there instead if smaller pets, rather than poultry, are what you are feeding.

- A complete layers feed such as Mr Johnson's Layer Pellets should form the bulk of the diet for laying hens, with scratch corn used occasionally for foraging and grit offered separately to help with digestion, rather than any one of these used alone.
- Is scratch corn a complete feed on its own?
- No, scratch corn like Mr Johnson's Mixed Corn is a scattered treat to encourage natural foraging behaviour, and should sit alongside a proper layers pellet or complete feed rather than being fed as the main source of nutrition.
