What arriving frozen actually means
Raw dog food is sold frozen because that is how it stays safe and fresh without preservatives. It travels in insulated packaging designed to keep it cold in transit, and the aim is for it to arrive still frozen or at worst thoroughly chilled, ready to go straight into your freezer.
Because of that, timing matters more with a raw order than with a bag of dry food. If you know you will be out for the whole day a delivery is due, it is worth having a plan for getting it into the freezer promptly rather than leaving a parcel on the doorstep in the sun.
Price per portion, not just price per bag
Raw food is usually sold by weight in frozen chubs, tubs or individual portions rather than in the kind of large sack you would buy dry kibble in. Choosing a size and a formula

A puppy has different energy and mineral needs from a fully grown dog of the same breed, so it is worth checking the formula is meant for your dog's current stage rather than assuming any raw meal will do.
If you are switching a dog onto raw food for the first time, do it gradually over a week or two alongside their current food rather than swapping overnight, and keep an eye on their stools while they adjust. If your dog has any existing health condition, check with your vet before making a significant diet change of any kind.
