Raw dog food subscription

We don't currently run a raw dog food subscription — there's no recurring box or scheduled delivery from us. What we do stock is a range of raw dog food you can order as and when you need it, and this page is really about what to weigh up when deciding between that and a subscription service elsewhere.

Being straight about what we offer

A subscription model — a fixed weekly or monthly box, often built around your dog's estimated calorie needs — is a genuinely popular way several raw food companies sell, and if that convenience matters to you, it's worth knowing upfront that it isn't how we currently sell raw food. We stock raw ranges you order when you want them, in the pack sizes the brand makes.

That's a real trade-off rather than a lesser option: a subscription buys you convenience and a bit of forgetting to reorder, but it usually locks you into a specific brand's estimate of what your dog needs, whereas ordering as you go lets you buy exactly what you're running low on and switch between formulas without cancelling anything.

What raw dog food actually costs

Raw food is generally more expensive per kilogram than dry kibble, and often than wet food too, largely because of the freezing, packaging and short shelf life involved in getting a raw product to a shop safely. The honest way to compare cost between products, subscription or not, is price per kilogram or per daily portion for your dog's weight, not the headline price on the pack.

Frozen raw also needs proper freezer space, which a subscription box doesn't remove the need for — you're still storing and thawing it the same way whether it arrives on a schedule or you order it yourself. Worth working that into the decision rather than assuming a subscription solves the storage side of feeding raw.

What to weigh up either way

Whether you order raw food as needed or through someone else's subscription, the same basic checks matter: is the recipe complete and balanced for your dog's life stage, do you have the freezer space and the discipline to thaw and use it properly, and does your dog actually do well on it. None of that changes based on how the order arrives.

If cost is the main driver, work out the price per kilogram across a few products before deciding, since raw ranges vary a fair amount between each other, subscription or otherwise. A cheaper headline price on a subscription box isn't automatically the cheaper option once you compare it properly.

Common questions

Does Giddy Pets offer a raw dog food subscription?
No, not currently. We stock a range of raw dog food that you order as and when you need it, rather than a scheduled recurring box. If that changes, it'll be reflected on this page rather than left as an outdated promise.
Is raw dog food cheaper as a subscription?
Not necessarily — a subscription buys convenience more than it guarantees a lower price. Compare the price per kilogram or per daily portion across the specific products you're considering rather than assuming a subscription is automatically the cheaper route.
How much freezer space does raw dog food need?
It depends on your dog's size and how far ahead you buy, but raw food for a medium or large dog can take up a meaningful amount of freezer space, especially if you're buying in bulk. It's worth checking what you actually have available before committing to a large order.
Can I switch my dog straight onto raw food?
It's generally better to introduce raw food gradually alongside whatever your dog currently eats, over a week or so, rather than switching overnight. If your dog has any existing health condition, check with your vet before changing their diet.
