Size guide & how to measure
Collars are sized by the neck girth — the measurement around the base of the neck where the collar will sit.
How to measure
- Wrap a soft tape around the base of the neck.
- Add room for two fingers between the tape and the neck.
- Use that measurement to pick a size whose range it falls within.
| Size | Typical neck girth | Rough guide |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 20–28 cm | Toy breeds |
| S | 26–36 cm | Small dogs |
| M | 34–48 cm | Medium dogs |
| L | 46–60 cm | Large dogs |
| XL | 58–72 cm | Giant breeds |
Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact measurements.
Full description
Visibility on a dog walk matters most exactly when conditions are worst — dusk, winter afternoons, unlit paths — which is when a plain-coloured collar disappears against dark clothing and a bright, reflective one is the difference between being seen from a distance and not.
The Reflecta 'A' Collar combines hi-vis orange with reflective strips, aimed at increasing visibility for both dog and owner during darker months. It is made in small, medium and large sizes to suit different breeds, with the large size measuring 45cm in length and 25mm in width.
- Hi-vis orange base colour
- Reflective strips for low-light visibility
- Made in small, medium and large sizes
- Large size: 45cm length, 25mm width
On sizing across the range. Only the large size's measurements — 45cm by 25mm — are confirmed here; the small and medium sizes are offered in the same design but their exact dimensions are not given to us, so check the size guide or measure your dog's neck before choosing between them.
Who it's for: owners who walk dogs of any size in low light and want a hi-vis colour combined with reflective strips, rather than reflective thread alone on a dark-coloured collar.

Why we chose it
Hi-vis orange plus reflective strips is a genuinely different approach to visibility than most collars, which rely on reflective thread alone against a dark base — orange works in daylight too, not just after dark. Covering three sizes means it suits most dogs rather than being a niche fit.
