Specifications

Brand: Vitakraft
Food type: Complementary_or_treat

Full description

A canary's everyday diet is built around seed, so a fruit-based treat is one of the few times colour and variety actually turn up in the food dish.

This is a blend of fruits providing vitamins and minerals, with sun-ripened seeds included for an energy boost. Vitakraft describe it as a sugar-free recipe with no preservatives or antioxidants added. It's a complementary treat rather than a complete food, so it's meant to sit alongside the regular seed diet rather than replace part of it.

On the ingredients. Vitakraft describe this as a fruit blend but don't itemise which fruits or in what proportion on the data available here, so there's no full ingredient list to check against a specific sensitivity. Go by the sugar-free and no-preservative claims rather than a breakdown that isn't published.

Who it's for: canary owners looking for an occasional treat alongside the main seed diet, particularly if avoiding added sugar matters.

Vitakraft Canary Fruit Cocktail

Why we chose it

Sugar-free is worth something in a treat category that often isn't, so that's the reason to pick this over a plainer fruit mix. It's a small pack, which suits a treat that should stay a small part of the diet rather than a big bag that invites overfeeding.
