"Fruit Cocktail" on the label promises more fruit than most budgie treats actually deliver, and it is worth reading the order the ingredients come in before assuming this one is mostly fruit. Vitakraft's composition leads with cereals first, then seeds at 10%, with fruits at 5% in third place — made up of dried plums (2%), dried peaches (0.4%) and dried apples (0.4%), plus vegetable by-products, egg and egg products, minerals and vegetables.

It is described as sugar free, with no preservatives or antioxidants, and Vitakraft flag egg as one of the protein sources. The pack is aimed specifically at budgerigars and parakeets rather than cage birds generally.

On the name. "Fruit Cocktail" describes the flavour theme rather than the bulk of the recipe — cereals come first in the ingredient list, seeds second at 10%, and the named fruits (plum, peach, apple) only add up to a 5% inclusion between them. It is a cereal-and-seed treat with a genuine but modest fruit content, not a fruit-forward mix.

Who it's for: budgie and parakeet owners who want a sugar-free treat with real named fruit in it, understanding that the fruit content is a minority ingredient rather than the main one.
