A dog or cat shedding more indoors in winter than outdoors in summer is not imagining it — central heating and other dehydrating warmth genuinely drives moulting, which is the problem this oil is aimed at rather than shedding in general.

It's a daily liquid feed supplement for dogs and cats, added to food rather than applied to the coat, intended to reduce excessive moulting and the hairballs that can follow from it, and to be a source of vitamins and energy alongside supporting bones and teeth. Vetzyme's own guide bands the quantity by weight: up to 5ml for animals under 5kg, 5-7.5ml for 5-25kg, 7.5-10ml for dogs 25-35kg, and 10-15ml for dogs over 35kg, mixed into the daily food.

These figures are Vetzyme's own weight bands, not ours, and the label says explicitly not to exceed the daily recommendation — measure rather than guess, particularly for a smaller cat or dog near the bottom of a band.
