Material: 100% edible
Brand: Tetra
Material: 100% edible
Food type: Complementary

Full description

Goldfish are usually the fish an owner worries about most before going away, since overfeeding by whoever's covering the tank is a more common holiday problem than underfeeding.

Tetra describe this as 100% edible food sticks, hardened by the same special production process used across their weekend and holiday range, which removes the need for indigestible binding agents. That slow-dissolving structure is what lets it feed a tank for up to seven days without a manual feed, dosed according to water volume and fish numbers.

100% edible, per the manufacturer
No indigestible binding agents, thanks to the hardening process
Feeds fish for up to seven days
Sold as a pack of 10 sticks
Sold as a complementary food, not a complete daily diet

What's not on the card. No protein, fat or fibre percentage is supplied, only the process description and the seven-day duration. It's classed as complementary rather than complete, so it's meant for the holiday gap rather than everyday feeding.

Who it's for: goldfish keepers going away for up to seven days who want a slow-release holiday food rather than relying on someone else to feed correctly.

Tetra Goldfish Weekend Food

Why we chose it

Seven days covers most short breaks without needing anyone else involved in feeding, which is the actual problem this solves. Being classed complementary rather than complete is honest about what it's for — a holiday bridge, not a daily food.
