Full description

Flake food is one of the easiest fish foods to overfeed, mostly because the tub always looks like it holds far more than a fish tank actually needs in a day.

This is a complete diet for tropical aquarium fish, made without artificial flavours, colours or preservatives, and formulated to carry the essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements a tropical tank needs from one food. It's supplied in a resealable jar rather than a bag, which is there to keep the flakes fresh once opened, and it's made in the UK.

Resealable jar to keep flakes fresh

What's not on the label. No protein, fat or fibre percentage is published for this pack, so there's nothing here to set against another brand's guaranteed analysis. There's also no feeding-amount guide, so the safest approach is to feed only what clears in a couple of minutes rather than filling the tank to match how much the jar looks like it holds.

Who it's for: anyone starting or restocking a small tropical tank who wants a straightforward complete flake without extra guarantee figures to compare.

Why we chose it

This is the plain, everyday tropical flake, and a shop needs a reliable one of those before it needs anything more specialised. Being made in the UK keeps the supply steady, which matters more for a staple food than for a one-off treat.
