Wild birds need fat far more than they need variety, especially outside the breeding season, and a suet pellet is essentially a concentrated fat delivery system dressed up with a flavour to make sure it actually gets eaten rather than left in the feeder.

These are wheat flour, beef suet, glucose, ground peanuts and berries, pressed into pellets sized for a suet pellet feeder or scattered on a bird table. Suet To Go add citric acid (E330) as a preservative and a red colouring. The pack carries an explicit allergen warning for peanuts and wheat flour, and states the product is not for human consumption.

• 12.55kg bag
• Wheat flour, beef suet, glucose, ground peanuts, berries
• Contains peanuts and wheat flour — allergen warning on pack
• Citric Acid (E330) as a preservative; red colouring
• For use in a suet pellet feeder, peanut feeder, or scattered on a bird table
• Not for human consumption; a genuine suffocation risk is noted on pack, so store away from children

What the label does not say. No calorie or fat percentage is supplied for this product, so we cannot state its exact energy content, only that suet pellets generally are a high-fat, high-energy feed. The peanut content also makes this unsuitable near anyone with a peanut allergy, human or otherwise, even though it is a garden product.

Who it's for: anyone feeding wild birds year-round who wants a bulk 12.55kg bag rather than restocking small bags through the winter.
