Specifications

Brand: Suet To Go
Food type: These pellets are perfect for use with any pellet feeder and are an ideal complementary feed.

Full description

Insect content in a suet pellet is aimed at birds after protein rather than sweetness, which is the opposite crowd to the ones the berry version is built for, even though the base recipe is otherwise the same.

Suet To Go's Insect Suet Pellets are made from wheat flour, beef suet, glucose, ground peanuts and insects, with citric acid (E330) at 1,320mg/kg and a yellow colour added, sold in a 500G bag.

500G bag
Composition: wheat flour, beef suet, glucose, ground peanuts, insects
Citric acid (E330) at 1,320mg/kg, plus a yellow colourant
Beef and insect are the tagged protein sources
Described as a complementary feed for use with any pellet feeder

On the mix. As with the berry version, the insect content isn't given a proportion. We know it's in there and tagged as a protein source, not how much of the pellet it actually makes up.

Who it's for: gardens wanting a higher-protein suet option, alongside or instead of the berry and mealworm flavours.

Why we chose it

The insect variant fills the protein-focused end of the same range. Having citric acid and colourant both named specifically is more transparent than most suet pellets bother with.
