Some hedgehogs, particularly older or poorly ones, manage a softer food more easily than a hard dry kibble, which is the gap a semi-moist format is built to fill rather than simply being a different texture for its own sake.

Spike's Tasty Semi-Moist Hedgehog Food is made from meat and animal derivatives, cereals, various sugars, oils and fats, yeasts, egg and egg derivatives and minerals, sold in a 1.3KG pack. Crude protein is 26%, crude oils and fats 15%, crude fibre 1% and crude ash 6.5%, fortified with vitamins A, D3 and E plus trace elements. The maker describes it as Hedgehog Hospital Approved, tasty and palatable, and suitable to feed on its own or mixed with other hedgehog foods. It should be stored in cool, dry conditions away from direct sunlight.

What's not confirmed here. This food isn't grain free — it contains cereals — and no specific daily feeding amount is given, so it's fed the way most hedgehog food is, left out and topped up rather than measured precisely.

Who it's for: anyone feeding a hedgehog that struggles with a hard dry kibble, or who simply wants to mix textures into the diet.
