Wet food straight from the fridge is a hard sell to a cat, and a bowl of water in an unheated utility room in January is a harder one still. Warmth changes both. Food at body temperature smells of considerably more than food at fridge temperature, and for an older animal with a dulled sense of smell that difference is often what stands between eating and walking away from the dish.

The bowl holds a food-grade stainless steel insert inside a flame-retardant ABS housing, and it warms to a maximum of 35 degrees before holding there: close to a dog or cat's own body temperature, warm enough to lift the aroma of wet food, and nowhere near hot enough to scald a tongue. The steel insert lifts out for washing so the electrics stay dry, and it runs from a 24V adapter rather than the mains directly.

Two notes, one of them about the paperwork. Second, the housing is plastic and only the food insert is steel, whatever the name implies, so keep the cable well out of reach of a chewer.
