"Mixed Selection" on the front of a box sounds like a spread of clearly different meats, but the ingredient panel behind it tells a narrower story — worth reading past the name before assuming what's actually in each pouch.

This chicken recipe in the range is 94% "meat and animal derivatives", of which chicken itself is named at only 4% "in the chunk" — the rest is unnamed meat and animal derivative. Vegetables include dried tomatoes at 0.7% (equivalent to 9.1% fresh tomato), and oils and fats include flaxseed oil at 0.2%. The wider range also carries turkey, salmon and tuna recipes.

• 40 pouches per box, in gravy
• Chicken recipe: 94% meat and animal derivatives, of which chicken is named at 4%
• Dried tomatoes 0.7% (equivalent to 9.1% fresh tomato)
• Flaxseed oil 0.2%
• Range also includes turkey, salmon and tuna recipes

On the naming. "Mixed Selection" and "chicken" on the label describe the flavour, not the make-up of the pouch — in the chicken recipe, chicken itself is named at only 4%, with the rest of the 94% meat content left as unnamed "meat and animal derivatives". That's set out on the ingredient panel, just easy to miss under the flavour name.

Who it's for: owners of an adult cat who want variety across a 40-pouch box, on the understanding that the named flavour is a small share of a wider, unnamed meat declaration.
