Working out how much to feed a cat by eye is guesswork most owners give up on within a week, which is why a pouch with an actual calorie figure printed against it is worth more than the flavour on the front.

This one carries both: 36 kcal per 50G pouch, and a feeding table by cat weight — roughly 5-6 pouches a day for a 3kg cat, 6-7 for 4kg, 7-8 for 5kg. Sheba's composition splits the recipe into a jelly base and a chunk, with the chunk making up 43% of the product and tuna or salmon appearing at 4% within that chunk. Nutritionally it comes out at protein 7.5%, crude fibres 0.2%, crude oils and fats 4.8% and moisture 86% — Sheba do not state a crude ash figure for this recipe.

• 100% complete nutrition for adult cats aged 1+ (not suitable for kittens under 12 months)
• 36 kcal per 50G pouch
• Feeding guide by cat weight, from roughly 5 pouches a day upward
• Chunks make up 43% of the product; tuna or salmon each appear at 4% within the chunk
• Protein 7.5%, crude oils and fats 4.8%, crude fibres 0.2%, moisture 86%
• Per kg: taurine 390mg, plus copper, iodine, iron, manganese and zinc

On the name: "Tuna & Salmon" names the flavour rather than the bulk. The chunk itself is 43% of the product, and the named fish sits at 4% within that chunk — the rest of the pouch is jelly and the ingredients listed alongside it. Sheba also do not publish a crude ash figure for this recipe.

Who it's for: cat owners who want an exact calorie figure to portion against, feeding an adult cat over 12 months rather than a kitten.
