Full description

Buying the smaller bag first is the sensible way to find out whether a cat actually likes a new food, rather than committing to a large sack you're stuck feeding through even if they turn their nose up.

Chicken leads this recipe at 17%, plus dried poultry protein, with an added Lactobacillus in the digest, though no percentage is stated for it on this pack. Wheat is present at 15%, so it isn't a grain-free recipe, and it's declared at 385 kcal per 100g.

Chicken 17%, plus dried poultry protein
Protein 37%, fat 13%, crude ash 7.5%, fibre 2.5%
Energy 385 kcal per 100g
Contains added Lactobacillus, without a stated percentage on this pack
Wheat present at 15% — not a grain-free recipe
2.8KG bag, for cats aged 7 and over

On the pack size. This is the smaller 2.8kg bag rather than the larger size in the same range, which suits trying the food out, or a single cat working through it more slowly than a busier multi-cat household would.

Who it's for: owners of a senior cat (7+) wanting to try this recipe in a smaller bag before committing to a bigger one.

Why we chose it

The smaller 2.8kg size is genuinely useful for trying a new food without a large bag going stale before it's finished. The declared kcal figure also makes it easy to check portions against what your cat's actually getting.
