Specifications

Brand: Peckish

Full description

Removing the husk from a sunflower seed before it goes into the feeder means every bit of what lands on the ground is edible, rather than the mix of shell and seed a whole sunflower feed leaves behind.

This is Peckish's sunflower hearts — a "straight", single-ingredient feed rather than a blend, described as carrying the highest energy rating in Peckish's range, rich in oil, and husk-free, leaving no mess.

Sunflower hearts only, a single-ingredient straight
Described as the highest energy rating in the range
Rich in oil
Husk-free, no mess
1KG pack

what the makers haven't told us. No specific energy, fat or oil percentage is given, only the "highest energy rating" and "rich in oil" description. There's no numeric figure here to compare directly against another feed.

Who it's for: anyone who wants a single, high-energy ingredient rather than a mixed blend, and prefers not sweeping up husks afterwards.

Peckish Sunflower Hearts

Why we chose it

No husks means no mess left under the feeder, which is a genuine point of difference from a whole sunflower seed feed. Being described as the range's highest energy rating also makes it a sensible pick for the coldest months.
