Specifications

Brand: Peckish

Full description

Nyjer seed is small enough that an ordinary feeder port lets half of it spill straight through, which is why it's sold to be used specifically with a nyjer feeder rather than any general-purpose one.

Peckish's Nyjer Seed is an 850G bag of straight nyjer, suitable for feeding all year round and intended for use with a dedicated nyjer feeder rather than a standard mesh or tube feeder.

850G bag
Straight nyjer seed, not a mixed blend
For use with a nyjer feeder specifically
Suitable for feeding all year round
Marketed to attract bullfinch, goldfinch, chaffinch, greenfinch, house sparrow and siskin among others

On the analysis. Peckish tell us which birds the seed is aimed at, but don't give us a nutritional analysis or an oil content for this specific bag, so we can't quote a fat or protein figure for it.

Who it's for: gardens already set up with a nyjer feeder and hoping to attract finches specifically, rather than the wider mix of birds a general seed blend brings in.

Peckish Nyjer Seed

Why we chose it

Finches are among the more particular garden visitors, and a straight nyjer seed is the reliable way to bring them in specifically rather than hoping they pick it out of a general mix. It only works with the right feeder, which is worth knowing before buying.
