Full description

Buying seed sourced from further away costs more in transport than the seed itself is often worth, which is presumably why a mix built entirely from UK-grown seeds and cereals is worth pointing out rather than assuming.

Peckish's Natural Balance Wild Bird Seed Mix is a 1.7KG bag built from a 10 seed blend, described by Peckish as 100% natural, with every seed and cereal in it sourced from the UK. The packaging itself is fully recyclable paper.

On the blend. Peckish tell us it's a 10 seed blend, entirely UK-sourced, but don't break down which 10 seeds are used or in what proportion — the blend is named, not itemised.

Who it's for: anyone who prefers a seed mix with a UK provenance and doesn't need a foil pack, since it's fully recyclable paper instead.

Why we chose it

A fully UK-sourced mix is a genuinely different pitch to the usual imported blends, and packaging that's fully recyclable paper rather than foil is worth having on the shelf too. Both are real, checkable points rather than marketing filler.
