Full description

Feeding wildfowl on the bank concentrates birds and people in the same small space. This food's directions instead put the feed across the water.

Mr Johnson's Wild Life Swan Duck Food is a 750G complementary dry food for swans, ducks and geese. Its composition is short: wheat, wheatfeed, maize, soya, fish meal and soya oil. The analytical panel declares 17.5% protein, 4% fibre, 4% oils and fats and 4% ash. Vitamins A, D3 and E are listed as additives, together with copper. The supplied description identifies the food as a bite-sized floating kibble.

750G complementary dry wildfowl food
Suitable for swans, ducks and geese
Floating, bite-sized kibble
17.5% crude protein
4% fibre, 4% oils and fats and 4% ash

Feed it on the water. The manufacturer says to scatter the food widely across the surface so more birds can reach it without overcrowding. Let the birds finish what has been offered before adding more. The guidance gives no fixed weight per bird, so do not turn the 750G pack into an assumed number of feeds; use the birds' response and avoid leaving excess food.

Who it's for: people feeding swans, ducks or geese at a pond, park or river who want a complementary floating food and can distribute it over the water rather than piling it on the bank.

Why we chose it

The water-feeding instruction is the deciding detail because it gives buyers a clear way to offer the food without crowding one patch of bank. The short composition and complete 17.5% protein analysis are also easy to assess.
