One thing worth knowing
Feeding the wrong prey size is a real risk with reptiles — too large a rat for the animal can cause serious harm — so matching the weight band to what your reptile actually needs, rather than guessing from "Small, Medium or Large" alone, is worth doing properly before you order.
Why we chose it
Knowing the actual weight band behind 'Small', 'Medium' and 'Large' is the whole reason to trust a maker on live or frozen prey, and Monkfield publish theirs plainly rather than leaving it to guesswork. The DEFRA licensing is also not nothing for a product like this.

Full description
Feeding a whole prey item rather than a processed food is the point of reptile feeding for most keepers, and getting the size right matters more here than with almost any other pet food, because too big a rat is a genuine risk to a snake or monitor rather than just wasted food.
Monkfield grade their rats by weight: Small Rats fall in the 101-150g range, Medium Rats 151-250g and Large Rats 251-355g, and this listing covers all three, sold in packs of five. Across the range, Monkfield's analysis shows 64% moisture, 14% protein and 5% fat. All rats come from a European rodent farm, are humanely euthanised under government-set guidelines, and Monkfield is DEFRA-licensed for trade distribution.

Who it's for: reptile keepers feeding whole prey who need a specific, known weight band rather than a vague size description, and want to buy in a 5-pack rather than one at a time.
