Full description

Training a dog to accept a muzzle takes far longer than putting one on for the first time, which is why Mikki's own advice is to build up how long it's worn gradually rather than expect a dog to tolerate it straight away.

This is a lightweight nylon muzzle with a plastic fastener, offered as a safer alternative to a solid basket muzzle. It's quick and easy to fit, and still allows a dog to pant, drink and take treats while wearing it. Size 8 is built for Boxers with a nose girth of around 30cm, and the assembled muzzle measures 33.5 x 16.5 x 2.5cm.

Nylon muzzle with plastic fastener
Allows panting, drinking and treat training
Size 8, for Boxers with a nose girth around 30cm
Assembled size 33.5 x 16.5 x 2.5cm
Not to be worn unattended or during strenuous exercise

One thing worth knowing. Mikki sell this muzzle in 13 sizes in total, and this card covers only Size 8 — if your dog's nose girth is different, or you're unsure, this size will not be right, and there's no universal 'medium dog' size in this range.

Who it's for: owners of a Boxer, or another breed with a similar nose girth, needing a muzzle for vet visits, grooming or a bite risk — and prepared to introduce it gradually rather than expect it accepted straight away.

Why we chose it

A nylon muzzle that still lets a dog drink and take treats is a much easier sell to the dog than a solid basket, which is the reason to stock it over the alternative. It comes in enough sizes that getting the girth right matters more than guessing by breed.
