Specifications

Brand: Marina

Full description

Getting tank temperature wrong by even a couple of degrees matters more to fish than most owners expect, since many species have a fairly narrow comfortable range — which makes an easy-to-read thermometer more of a welfare tool than a nice-to-have gadget.

Marina's Digital Aquarium Thermometer is built to be accurate and easy to read, and mounts on the outside of the tank glass rather than sitting in the water. Being external, it is also removable, so it can be taken off, moved or replaced without disturbing anything inside the tank.

What isn't stated. Marina do not give us a temperature range, battery type or display units (Celsius, Fahrenheit or both) for this thermometer, so check those details are what you need before relying on it for a temperature-sensitive setup.

Who it's for: aquarium keepers who want an easy-to-read external thermometer that does not need to sit in the water, and who prefer a digital display over a strip or floating dial.

Marina Digital Aquarium Thermometer

Why we chose it

An external mount means one less thing sitting inside the tank for fish to bump into or algae to grow on, and a digital readout is simply easier to check at a glance than squinting at a strip thermometer on the glass. It is a small, inexpensive piece of kit worth having on every tank.
