Buying a full case of a food a cat has never tried is a gamble most owners would rather not take on a flavour they're not sure about yet.

This 8-tin box is the smaller version of Lily's Kitchen's Shredded Fillets in Broth range: 70g tins split across the same four recipes as the full case — Chicken, Chicken with Mussels, Tuna, and Tuna with Salmon — two of each rather than eight. The Chicken recipe is 50% chicken with sunflower oil and a little chicken stock, thickened with tapioca starch.

• 70g tins, 8 per box (two of each of four recipes)
• Chicken recipe: 50% chicken, protein 16.5%, fat 3%, 96kcal/100g
• Tuna recipe: 50% tuna, protein 15%, fat 2.5%, 85kcal/100g
• All four recipes are complete foods, not toppers
• Chicken and Chicken with Mussels carry 886mg/kg taurine
• No added sugar or grain, per Lily's Kitchen's own ingredient list

What the label doesn't cover. As with the larger case, the Tuna with Salmon recipe's exact percentages weren't supplied to us, and neither tuna recipe carries a published taurine figure, where the two chicken recipes list 886mg/kg. With only two tins of each recipe here, that's a smaller gap to work around than in the full-size case.

Who it's for: owners wanting to try all four recipes before committing to the full-size case, or feeding a single cat who won't get through a bigger case before some tins go past their best.
