Brand: Komodo

Full description

A tortoise's diet is built mostly around plant fibre rather than anything rich or dense, and a plain grass-and-dandelion cake sits closer to that baseline than a fruit-heavy treat does.

This is a hay cake made from dried grass and dandelion, sold as a 200G pack. Komodo describe it as a good combination diet for tortoises.

Dried grass and dandelion
Described as a combination diet by Komodo

What Komodo don't say. Beyond the two named ingredients, there's no percentage split, no fibre figure and no feeding guide supplied for this cake, so we can't tell you how much dandelion is in it relative to the grass, or how often to offer it.

Who it's for: tortoise owners who want a plain grass-based cake as part of a varied diet, rather than a fruit or flower-based treat.

Komodo Tortoise Hay Cakes

Why we chose it

Two named ingredients and nothing else is a plainer, more staple-like option than the flower and fruit treats also in this range. That suits a tortoise's fibre-heavy everyday diet better than an occasional treat would.
