Specifications

Brand: Komodo
Food type: Complementary_or_treat

Full description

Tortoises benefit from dietary variety beyond the greens that make up most of a daily diet, and a named fruit and flower treat is one way to add that without reaching for something out of a fridge that wasn't meant for a reptile.

Komodo's Fruit Mix is a complementary treat made from four named ingredients: dandelion at 64%, aronia berries (chokeberries) at 16%, strawberry at 8% and redcurrants at 12%. Komodo describe several wellness properties for these ingredients on their own packaging, which we're not repeating here since they read as health claims we haven't independently verified.

80G pack
Dandelion 64%, aronia berries 16%, strawberry 8%, redcurrants 12%
Complementary treat, not a complete food
Suitable for tortoises, and described by Komodo as usable for a variety of lizards and mammals too

On the health claims. Komodo's own packaging makes specific wellness claims about these ingredients. We can confirm what's in the mix and in what proportion, but not the health benefits claimed for it, so treat this as a treat rather than anything with a stated medicinal purpose.

Who it's for: tortoise owners who want a named, proportioned fruit treat rather than a vague "fruit mix" with no breakdown.

Komodo Tortoise Fruit Mix

Why we chose it

Four named ingredients with an actual percentage against each is more transparency than most treat mixes offer. It's sized as a proper treat pack too, at 80G, rather than a token sachet.
