Tortoises graze across a wide range of plant matter in the wild, picking through grasses and flowers rather than eating one uniform food, and a mixed bar treat gets closer to that than a plain pellet does.

This bar is made from grass fines and mixed flower petals — rose bloom, cornflower and sunflower — held together with what Komodo describe as an edible, vegan binder. It's sold as a 45G bar.

• 45G bar
• Grass fines and mixed flower petals: rose bloom, cornflower, sunflower
• Edible binder, described as vegan
• Treat format, not a staple diet

On the ingredients list. Beyond naming the grass and flower content, there's no percentage breakdown or nutritional analysis supplied for this bar, so we can't tell you the balance between the grass and the flower petals, or give you a protein or fibre figure.

Who it's for: tortoise owners who want a flower-based treat to vary a diet built mainly on greens and hay, rather than a plain grass pellet.
