Specifications

Brand: King British

Full description

Turtles and terrapins feed differently to fish, snatching at food that moves or floats rather than grazing steadily, and a stick that includes gammarus — a small crustacean many aquatic reptiles hunt naturally — is aimed at that snatching, hunting-style feeding response rather than a passive one.

King British's Turtle & Terrapin Food Sticks are described as containing high-quality, natural ingredients including gammarus, plus essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements aimed at growth, shell development and digestion.

What the label does not say. No protein, fat or fibre analysis has been supplied for this product, so we cannot state its nutritional breakdown beyond the ingredients and stated purpose. No feeding rate or frequency is given either, so how much to offer is a judgement call based on your own animal.

Who it's for: owners of a pet turtle or terrapin wanting a floating food that plays to their natural hunting feeding style rather than a food that sits inertly on the bottom.

Why we chose it

Gammarus in the mix is the reason we picked this over a plain flake or pellet, because it's the kind of thing a terrapin would actually go after in the wild. It's a small pack, so it's an easy one to try without committing to a big bag.
