On floating versus sinking
Floating is a deliberate choice by King British and it is not the right choice for every tank — a fish that already takes everything from the surface will carry on doing so, and the same brand make a sinking pellet precisely because some keepers want the opposite. Nothing on this tub says which fish should not have a floating food, and no calorie figure is published, so portion by King British's own instruction: two to three pellets per fish, two or three times a day, removing anything left uneaten.
Why we chose it
Floating is the reason to pick this tub rather than the one next to it, and it is the version people want when the tank is a display rather than a pond. It is also a complete food, so it replaces flake instead of sitting beside it.

Full description
The honest reason most people never spot a problem with a goldfish early is that they never look at all of them at once. A food that floats fixes that by accident: everything in the tank comes up to the same place at the same time, and a fish that does not come up is telling you something.
King British make that the point of this one. It is a complete food for coldwater fish, developed to float so that surface feeders can reach it easily and the rest are drawn up for a visible health check. The ingredient list opens with herring meal, then wheat, corn, shrimp, wheat gluten, wheat germ, brewer's yeast and beta-glucane. Protein is 35%, fat 7%, crude fibre 2% and crude ash 8%, and they describe the formula as low waste to help keep the water clearer.

Who it's for: goldfish and coldwater keepers who want one food that does the whole job and who like being able to count their fish at feeding time.

Common questions
Is it a complete food?
Yes. King British formulate it as a complete pet food for all coldwater fish, so it replaces a flake rather than topping one up.
How much should I feed?
King British's own instruction is two to three pellets per fish, two or three times daily, without overfeeding, and to remove any uneaten food.
What is the protein content?
Protein is 35%, with fat at 7%, crude fibre at 2% and crude ash at 8%. Herring meal is the first ingredient.
Does it float or sink?
It floats. That is deliberate, so surface feeders can reach it and the rest of the tank comes up where you can see them.
Is it grain free?
No. Wheat, corn, wheat gluten and wheat germ are all in the ingredient list.
